The idea for the online appointment scheduler - Octomize - was born when a counselor became quite famous due to numerous radio shows and television appearances that greatly increased her visibility to the general public. Rather suddenly, there was a large growth in the number of clients who were interested in scheduling appointments with her, all of whom began to call or email her at all hours of the day. Personally dealing with and manually scheduling appointments for each person, it became increasingly difficult and stressful to keep track of everyone and everything just using a simple appointment book. It was then that her husband, the founder and president of one of the first online e-commerce music stores, CDworld Inc. (1994-2001), decided to help relieve his wife's anxiety by developing an online scheduling program.
After a beta trial of a few months, her clients were thrilled with convenience and easy-usability of the online scheduling program. With this success, the counselor pushed her husband to make this program available to other service providers and companies that were encountering similar problems and stresses. And thus Octomize was born: the idea of optimizing a business eightfold, based upon the concept of an octopus having eight arms - they must be terrific multitaskers!

Bruce has an extensive wealth of experience in nearly every aspect of business. He has founded 5 companies - two (CDworld, Inc. and Octomize, Inc.) focused on Internet sales and services.
He is a highly qualified manager offering years of e-business, e-commerce, engineering, marketing, and manufacturing experience in retail and commercial businesses. As a results-focused and effectual leader, he has the ability to create and implement effective, innovative business solutions for an ever-changing business environment.
Bruce is the President of Octomize, Inc. and an Executive VP of VeraConnex, LLC. Previously, Bruce was the E-business Manager for Varian, Inc.; President of CDworld.com, Campbell, CA; New Business Development Manager at Tandem Computers, Cupertino, CA; Marketing Manager at Tandem Computers; Senior Consultant Manager at Coopers & Lybrand, San Jose, CA; R & D New Business Manager at FMC Corporation, Santa Clara, CA; and Computer Integrated Manufacturing & Robotics Technology Manager at Boeing Aerospace Corp., Seattle, WA.
Henry Chang - Founder
Dr. Henry Chang has more than 30 years computer industry experience involved business activities in US, China, Taiwan, and Korea. He has founded 4 companies. He has worked as technical leads in large companies, including 18 years in HP, and as CTOs in small startup companies (WebKomputing, Lead Digi, and Artistic Vision). His areas of expertise include: Cryptography and Network Security, Embedded System, eCommerce, Java technologies, Mobile and Wireless Computing, Image Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, and Quality Assurance. Dr. Chang has been teaching at Northwestern Polytechnic University since 1991. He has taught Cryptography and Network Security, Embedded Systems, Java technologies, Image Processing, Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, and several programming courses.
Annette Martin - Marketing Lead
Annette Martin has been involved with marketing and sales in the bricks and mortar businesses as well as an early pioneer in Internet retail. In 1994, she and her husband, Bruce Pettyjohn started one of the first e-commerce music stores, CD World where she was responsible for marketing and finance. In addition to the Internet businesses, she has a private consulting practice where the prototype of Octomize was created and refined.
